New Release: v0.8.3 - Market Orders

Added in v0.8.3

• Market Orders:
  • For Oanda only.
  • Backtesting calculates the entry/SL/TP from the previous bar, but assumes gets in at the open of the current bar.
  • Enter At Market cannot be used for anything other than Long Entry Values or Short Entry Values.
  • If Enter At Market is used, it overrides any other Entry Values setting.
• "Average Bar Range" family is now "Bar Range"
  • Current Bar Range Is Narrowest Of Last X Bars
  • Current Bar Range Is Widest Of Last X Bars
  • Bar Range Is More Than X Multiple(s) Of The Average (this one was already there)
  • Can now chart the Narrowest Bar Range, Widest Bar Range, and Average Bar Range.
• On Update Trade window, added confirmation messages when user wants to send any type of change to the broker.
• On Update Trade window, now showing current Bid price for longs, and Ask prices for shorts, as these are the values used when exiting.
• Use sequences instead of Sequences_SEQ table (which was a left-over from the days of using Microsoft Access).

Fixed in v0.8.3

• Some latency during auto-trading saw the limit order price placed below the current price. Gain Capital throws an error when this occurs. Oanda allowed it to happen. And, it was when the price fell down below the price (rather than rising through it) that the order was taken up. In this case the order is now cancelled. Will recalculate next bar.
• Trading system moved to Trade Mgmt Only section immediately reverted to an available system even though it had a trade outstanding.
• For Gain Capital, order marked as 'Cancelled' even though its trade was entered (so its status should actually be 'Entered'). This is Gain's problem - there is a small window of time where the order is gone and the trade is not their either. It's not a critical issue.
• For Gain Capital, order marked as 'Open' even though its trade was entered (so its status should actually be 'Entered').
• \BUP\ORD\ and \BUP\DEAL\ no longer treated as unknown messages from Gain Capital's rates feed.
• Could delete a user who is being used in the Data Manager window to download rates. Then when click Search, any entries for this user would not show up, because referential integrity is broken.
• Fixed Exit At Market button. Now works for Gain Capital, and doesn't overwrite the trade's entry ref # for Oanda. Although, often there are problems at Gain Capital's end.
• Gain Capital changed it's demo accounts to only allow trades in blocks of 100K, rather than blocks of 10K.
• Removed third L from "Bolllinger Bandwidth Is Below X"
