New Release: v0.7.5 - Emergency Release

posted @ Friday, October 20, 2006 10:37 AM by Sharky

Fixed Or Added In v0.7.5

  • The introduction of the Interactive Brokers proof of concept caused some problems, namely the Command Centre wouldn't open. It needs a particular file to be registered - Tws.ocx. This file doesn't seem to be able to be registered without first installing the IB trading platform (TWS) and possibly also the TWS API. Not good for people who don't want to use IB. Moved the IB proof of concept off the Command Centre and onto its own window.

New Release: v0.7.4 - More Indicators

posted @ Friday, October 20, 2006 9:41 AM by Sharky

Fixed Or Added In v0.7.4

  • File Load fails when the files to be loaded are in a directory that the postgres user does not have permissions for.
  • Show dates that are subscribed to: YES - Until 31-Dec-06 23:59:59 (GMT).
  • Login screen now allows you to specify whether you want to save the password or not. **Careful** it stores the password in a simple text file in the Thinking Stuff installation directory. You should only use this feature if you have sole access to your computer.
  • Can make the backtesting output files Excel files (2002/XP and above), or you can keep them as they are now, which is comma-separated text files.
  • Can vary the number of units/contracts bought during backtesting. Up until now backtesting always bought 100,000 units (1 contract) for comparing apples-with-apples purposes, but now you can choose to continue to do that, or to follow the Money Mgmt rules for the particular Trading System. It's still going to start with a bank of $100K though. (Please note at this time that if there is no USD in the currency, then backtesting will revert to always purchasing 1 contract).
  • User now has more control over what is printed in the backtesting results files.
  • Charts - Key not unique error if added 2 indicators, then delete the first, then add again.
  • Charts - Buy/Sell icons - When pasting from a backtesting data file, it allows you to see how the stop loss and take profit move around compared to the price. You no longer need to specify the colour for each line (Long S/L, Long T/P, Short S/L, Short T/P).
  • Chart - Indicators can now be added to the panel with the prices, or its own panel.
  • Help section now attached to each window that needs it.
  • Some fairly major GUI changes.
  • Interactive Brokers proof of concept. This doesn't save anything to the database.
  • Make "paid subscription" the default option on the Login page.
