Features Page Finally Finished

After sitting on the ol' TODO list for quite a few months now, the Features & Screenshots page is finally done. Who knows what was blocking me from finishing that particular page, but it's out of the way now.

Moving webhosts was the impetus to finish a lot of the things I wanted to do with this website, so in that sense it's been a good thing.

Any suggestions for content? Stuff you can't get elsewhere but want to read?

Requests For New Features

You might think of a new feature, and you might ask me to make it for you. If the feature would only take a few hours to do, I'm happy to do it. But please don't get angry if I say I won't. The money you pay is for TS as is. It does not include hiring me as your personal programmer.

I get requests for new features all the time, you see, and I sincerely wish I could please everybody. I've added dozens of new features all at no extra cost. But at the end of the day, I have a life to lead outside of work and TS, and the fact is that TS is already a fantastic piece of software that should be able to make you money as is.

I'm sure your new features would be very cool, but TS will never be able to handle all trading systems ever thought of, and I might add, neither will TradeStation, MQL, etc. Some trading systems just have to be done manually.

Here's the link to the trading theory under which TS was built. If your new feature fits within that framework, then there's a good chance it will get done. If all you want is a new indicator, or a new way to use one of the existing indicators, then there is a good chance it will get done.

There are literally thousands and thousands of different ways to make a trading system with TS as it is now. But if you need something out of the ordinary, you may well need to consider using TradeStation or whatever, and learn how to make trading systems using their scripting language. Doing it yourself, or paying someone privately, will be the only way to get automated trading software *exactly* as you want it.

However, there is a trade-off between cost and customisation. Doing it yourself will take countless hours of your free time. Hiring someone will take thousands of dollars. It's up to you. You might be happy to pay that. But if you can't make money with the way TS is at the moment, I think there must be something wrong.

Having said all that, there's no harm in asking for a new feature. I'm just asking that you don't take it personally if I say no.

New Version of IUR Guide

There's a new version of the Installation, Upgrading, Removal Guide.  I've added sections on how to open various accounts; what all the different components are in TS, how they fit together, how to install, and what they cost. It's an exciting read.

Available on the Download page.

Next is the User Manual.

We've Moved Webhosts

If you've come to the website in the last couple of days, you might have noticed a few changes. We've moved webhosts, and I took the opportunity to change the design of the site, and a few other things.

If you find any problems, could you please let me know.

The reason behind the change was basically that my old webhost was crap.  Absolutely ridiculously terrible. I will definitely write a blog post about what happened, one day, but whether or not I include the old webhost's name is up to them. I've asked for a refund of 3-month's subscription. If they give it to me, they are acknowledging that I got less than the service they normally provide, and agree I should get my money back. In that case, no naming is needed. If they don't give me the refund, they're saying it's perfectly fine that my website was going down for a couple of hours every couple of days, even though they have a 99.9% uptime guarantee. In that case, I think it's only right that other people are warned.

Well, enjoy the new site. I hope if you're reading this by feed then you'll come and have a bit of a look around again.
